What to expect
At your initial Naturopathic or Nutritional Medicine consultation, a thorough case history will be taken. You will be asked questions about the main reason for your visit, your current health concerns, past medical history, personal health goals, genetic history and your diet and lifestyle habits. If you have any relevant blood test results, scans or ultra sound reports, it is requested that you bring a copy of these with you to the first consultation. Similarly if you are taking any medications or supplements it is advised that you bring these along with you also.
From here, an individualised treatment plan will be devised to help address your health concerns. If further testing is required then this will also be organised. As no two individuals are the same, your treatment plan will be unique to your individual needs and may involve dietary, lifestyle, herbal, and/or nutritional supplementation depending on your individual needs.
Follow up Consultations
It is important to note that addressing your health holistically takes time. While you may feel better after your first consultation, it is important to attend follow up consultations to monitor your progress and make the necessary ‘tweaks’ to your personalised treatment plan. While symptomatically you may be feeling a lot better, one consultation is usually not enough time to treat the underlying cause of your health concerns. As you improve, follow up appointments will be booked further apart as you are better able to manage your health on your own.
